Morgan Suspension Build, Part 4
I have been busy this week, revising and building the wishbones for my suspension. Getting materials together during this lock down has been the most challenging. I had two problems, first was the plate steel, I could only find 4 x8 sheets, which was out of the question, so I welded up flat stock instead. The other problem was the battery went out on my auto darkening hood. It took me three days to find a battery at a Lowes, a couple towns over, and it must have been on the shelf for a while, because it only lasted a few days. luckily a ordered some and they came in yesterday. But here are some build pictures.

Started welding A-arms for trike
I started building the A-arm / wish bones for my Morgan replica. I finished one upper wishbone before the battery in my viking auto darkening hood went out. I will try to get a replacement tomorrow. But here are some update photos.

MORGAN 3 WHEELER FRONT SUSPENSION / WISH BONE LAYOUT , DESIGN, AND BUILD. PART 1
Today I made the jig for the front wish bones, cutting an offset for size difference of the bushing tube. Then I made some mock upper and lower arms, and secured them to my frame, to check if my geometry was correct. Made some minor adjustments to the lower arm for clearance. in the next part I will start cutting the tubing.

FINISHING THE TRIKE SPINDLES / KNUCKLES
Finished the Chevette/Fiero knuckles for the trike. I decided to remove the backing plates, but I will keep them, just in case. Packed and installed the bearings, along with the rear seal. I went with the chevette dics, for the 4 x 100 bolt pattern. Which will be helpful when it comes time to bolt up the Triumph 15 inch wire wheels and hubs.

REBUILDING TRIKE SPINDLES / KNUCKLES
Started rebuilding the trike front spindles. I'm starting with a used pair of Chevy Chevette front spindles. They were used and abused, but straight and true. Took the dust shields off and degreased them, then straightened up the dust shields. From there I cleaned them up with a wire wheel and grinder. Along with removing a lot of the casting lines. Next, etching primer was used to arrest any remaining rust in the pits. Followed with buildup primer. lastly I decided to used a Rustoleum Hammered finish paints, for the rust protection, and convenience/ availability for touch up later on.

NEW PLAYTOY!!!!!
I ordered a 4 amp metal cutter from Harbor Freight, They were nice enough to send me the 5 amp model in it's place, for the same price. And did not charge me shipping either. And of course I had to try it out. Rather than try it on sheet metal, I was curious how it would do on 1/8th inch plate aluminum. IT ZIPPED THREW....Quicker than the plasma cutter, and leave a great looking edge. This was money well spent in my opinion.....:D
